TheDesk reports that the television network MeTV will be branching out and launching a new channel dedicated to classic cartoons, called MeTV Toons. The channel will feature classic Hanna-Barbera toons including Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and more. The channel will be launching on June 25, both on broadcast television and the streaming services Frndly and Philo. The press release was sent to Variety and TVLine yesterday. However, the articles were deleted because according to TheDesk, the press release was accidentally sent out too early. Since it has still been reported by a number of other smaller news outlets, I decided to make this post, however keep in mind that because the major news outlets did delete this article, there is a small possibility that plans will change for this channel since there has been no official press release confirming it.
The official website for the network is also now up: metvtoons.com

That sounds absolutely awesome, because now and then, I occasionally watch MeTV for shows like Adam West's Batman or see what movie they'll play on Svengoolie.

Many years ago I used to watch Svengoolie on there as well! I agree it's super cool they're going to start playing Scooby here.

One Piece's live action remake stayed true to the original series

I have Youtube TV now so I don't even have the main MeTV, so I won't be able to watch, but I am happy this will exist

I'm really happy that we're getting this channel too! I hadn't checked out their schedule in a while either, but I was pleasantly surprised when I looked. It's cool they're playing stuff like SDMI, TSD&SDS and The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries! I also fondly remember first watching the entirety of The Flintstone Kids and The Jetsons season 2 and 3 when I was younger, so really happy to see they're back to playing those!

For me personally, Jonny Quest is one of my very favorites so it is awesome to see that one on the schedule, even just barely. I do wish they had a bigger variety of classic characters including some more that used to play back in the day, but considering where the channel was last time I actually had access to it, the schedule they have is amazing right now

I'm really glad they're showing most of the underappreciated or unknown shows of this franchise alongside the popular ones! The Scrappy years especially are so blacked out of many people's minds. I'm not able to watch this channel, but it's great that it's happening.

The first season of Scrappy and New Scooby Doo Mysteries being on the schedule is already a pleasant surprise, but the fact that they have one of the most obscure seasons (and a really solid one at that) in the New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show airing amazes me. I barely even remember that one showing on there back in the day. 5/3/2024 10:41:27 am
I don't remember Boomerang ever airing The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show either, so it's awesome to see that they are. I barely remember them ever playing The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries except during marathons either so cool they're playing that one too.

Is there a cord cutter option to watch MeTV? I love Boomerang but there's no way to access the channel stream through the internet, only the streaming service. I'm hoping I can stream MeTV Toons off the channel's website when it starts

If there is a way to do that, nothing has been shared about it yet. Hopefully it will be available to stream through their website for those who want to, though!

This is great about MeTV! We get MeTV over the antenna at our house. We will definitely be "tooning" in.
