Some sad news today as Scholastic's site has now pushed back the release date for the third Daphne & Velma novel (originally scheduled for February 2, 2021) by four months. The new release date will be June 1, 2021. Note that Amazon still lists the release date as February 2, but now that the official Scholastic site has switched along with all other sites besides Amazon, that's almost positively the most reliable source given Scholastic is the publisher of these books. While it's unfortunate this got pushed back so far, let's hope the book is enjoyable enough that those extra four months are worth the wait!

This is unfortunate as I was really looking forward to reading that book next month after a while of waiting. But I guess I can wait more, especially if it is as quality as the first two books. I’m sad that it’s only going to be a trilogy. I feel that the books could have lasted for about 5 books total without stretching the character arcs and story too long, while also giving us plenty of time with this radical iteration.

Where did you hear it was only going to be a trilogy? I wasn't aware the series was ending, and I was really hoping it would go on for several more books.

OMG! I totally missed this. Thank you so much for sharing this! That's really sad it's only going to be a trilogy, but nonetheless I am excited for the final book. The post even had the title and the description of the book, which hasn't been published anywhere else! Oddly, the post said the third book was coming out in July despite their hyperlink and all other booksellers saying June 1. Leave a Reply. |
