Some concept art from the Velma Halloween special has been shared, giving some information about what will be in the upcoming special. According to Diário do Scooby on Twitter, the Halloween specials will feature zombies, as well as a performance from the Hex Girls. While Thorn appeared in the second season, it is now confirmed that Dusk and Luna will make an appearance. This concept art comes from artist Nuri Durr's website, which also includes pictures of Scrappy and the Great Gazoo, who may appear in the special.

A trailer for Velma season 2 has been released on YouTube. The trailer reveals a few new plot threads for this season, including a serial killer targeting men, Norville feeling guilty about Fred's mom, Fred continuing his "Spooky Stuff Van," Daphne's parents warning the gang not to investigate, and a hinted romance between Fred's dad and Velma's mom. Thanks Zoinkss for the info.
AnimationMagazine has revealed some additional information about the second season of Velma, along with a more official announcement of the show's return and a new poster (above). CBR has confirmed that the season 2 of the show will be posted on Max on April 25, and the full season will be posted that day. They've also shared the official description for the new season:
When an even spookier mystery grips Crystal Cove, Velma (Mindy Kaling) must find a way to balance her detective work with the demands of her newfound popularity before it’s too late. Meanwhile, her faithful friends Daphne (Constance Wu), Norville (Sam Richardson), and Fred (Glenn Howerton) are powerless to help thanks to their own personal battles and worse… Detention. A few Velma season 2 titles have popped up on Rotten Tomatoes for the first four episodes. I don't believe any Rotten Tomatoes content able to be edited by users, so these should be the official titles (but please correct me if I'm wrong on this). The titles for the first four episodes are "The Mystery of Teen Romance," "Creaky Friday," "When Velma Met Money," and "Seancé." There hasn't been official confirmation of these titles anywhere else, but I think it's safe to say that these will likely be the titles. Thanks JustMeJordanW for providing the links to these titles, which can be found below:

According to the monthly "What's New on Max" video for April, we will officially be getting the second season of Velma next month on Max (confirmation is at the 0:22 mark). While no official date was provided, Max CEE Updates posted on X that April 25 is the release date, and that all episodes will be added on the same day rather than two per week like the first season. This X account isn't an official source and I typically try to avoid posting rumors; however, the account posted the April 25 date on Monday, March 18, which was before this video came out confirming the release date was April, so it's possible they have an inside source. That said, note that while we do know it will be releasing in April, the specific date hasn't been confirmed by an official source, so take April 25 with a grain of salt for now. Last month, we had a cryptic announcement that a "special episode" of Velma is coming from the LinkedIn page of a storyboard artist. Not many details were provided at the time, but now, a listing revealing more information about the special has popped up on the Entertainment Identifier Registry. According to EIDR, we will be getting a Velma Halloween special. The listing was entered into the database on October 25, 2023. The special will air sometime in 2024, presumably around October for Halloween.
It is unclear if the Halloween special is a part of season 2, or if it's a separate episode that isn't a part of any season. According to character designer Dinah Kalaha's resumé, character designing for season 2 began in November 2022 and just wrapped up in October 2023. This confirms that a season 2 was planned before the show had aired. After almost eight months of no news following the season 1 finale of Velma, we have a small tidbit of what's to come for the series. Storyboard artist Kelsey Norden listed on her LinkedIn page that she recently returned to the crew to help storyboard a "special episode" of Velma. It is unclear whether this is an episode that is a part of season 2, or if there will be a stand-alone special episode that isn't a part of the next season. She also listed that production for this episode began in August 2023 and is ongoing. There is not a way to directly link to the section on LinkedIn, but this information can be found by scrolling down to the "Experience" section of Kelsey's LinkedIn page.
New information about Velma was announced today at Warner Brothers-Discovery's panel at Annecy Festival in France. Season 2 of the show has been confirmed to be in production. In addition, it was announced season 2 would be released sometime in 2024, although no specific date has been announced yet. The show was also confirmed to still be considered a Max Original, which debunks previous rumors that season 2 might air on the Tubi streaming service due to poor audience reception. You can read more about the other shows that were announced at the festival in WB's press release.
It's seemed like a switch flipped when Velma stopped airing and most everybody collectively agreed to cease talking about the show, but after four months, we have our first tidbit of news on the series. The first season of the series has been given a release on digital platforms, including Amazon, Apple TV and Vudu. Each episode is available for $1.99, or the full season could be bought for $14.99. Note that there was no direct link to the Apple TV page, as their main web browser page doesn't actually let you purchase anything. If you have the Apple TV application, you can search the series on there.
On a separate note, there are a few oddities/mistakes with the wide streaming release.
IGN has just announced that Velma for being developed for a second season on HBO Max. No further details or date has been given at this time. Velma is the most streamed HBO Max Original Animated Series on the app; however, it is worth noting that there are only four other HBO Max Original Animated Series currently released, so this is not as big of an accomplishment as some news outlets have made it seem.
